How to teach your kids mahjong through songs.

With the emphasis on English literacy, I say it's time for a mahjong revolution and we should start at nursery level! Here are songs we should teach them:

Missus Tai Tai has a Pong.
P o n g Pong.
And then she has one more same tile.
K a n g Kang.
With a Pong Pong here
and a Pong Kang there,
Pong Pong Pong Kang and don't forget your eye,
Missus Tai Tai now has won
And so she shouts a Hu!

Rosie Phua now has a Pong
Has a Pong
Has a Pong
Rosie Phua now has an eye
So she Pong Pong Hu!

Yi wan, Jiu wan, Dong Nan Xi Bei
Yi suo, Jiu suo, Hong Zhong, Fa Cai
Yi tong Jiu tong and one Bai Ban
and one more to Shi San Yao.

Many

Many have entered one only to back out a time later.

Many have entered and won.

Many have entered and lost.

Many times a girl been seduced by words, only to be broken by words, a time later.

Many times a guy been seduced by lust, only to be broken by lust, a time later.

Many we have gained.

Many we have lost.

To the cause.

But, how many is many?

Go Go Gourmet!

Have you ever wanted to cook like a pro?
Can't tell the difference between spinach and eggplant?

Fear not! Go Go Gourmet is here!

A game designed to help you identify ingredients needed for delicacies; burgers, sandwiches, sundaes, salads, pasta, cakes, soups, and the list goes on.

After a while, you'll realise that eighty percent of all recipes requires mushrooms and onions. I have no idea if this is true in the real world.

With catching graphics, the game is rather easy to understand. You need to produce delectable dishes. You start by making simple dishes like burgers and then naturally evolve to more 'cheem' dishes.

Too easy? Relax. I haven't even told you about collecting the ingredients and cooking them.

Ingredients are spread out all around the kitchen, and you have to select the right one. Be warned though, as you advance through the levels, most of the ingredients start to look rather similar, especially if it's something you've never heard of noor seen before.

Chotto! The dish isn't done yet. Ingredients needs to be sliced and boiled and steamed and fried and baked and what-not.

How?

The creators of this game has managed to minimise space in the miniature-kitchen-overrun-by-ingredients. An all-in-one blender will cut, slice, and mix your ingredients for you. The oven bakes and grills. Two sets of pans and pots will ease any frying, boiling and steaming tasks you might have.

If none of this sounds extremely fascinating to you, how about the sense of satisfaction as you survive each day, crafting beautiful unheard-of dishes?

It's like Diner Dash and Home Sweet Home, all combined into one whooping dash of adrenalin-racing, heart-thumping excitement!

New Blogskin

Well, as I've promised 'a while' ago - my new blogskin!

It's meant to resemble a very well-known company's website. Actually I print screened and spliced their navigational bar, so well, that might be considered second-hand copying I guess. Like pirated originals.

Hope you like it. Not all the content is up yet though. Just click the words and you'll know. Might add a few image swaps to further increase the relationship between my skin and that company's website. No particular reason why. Just because it's simple. And it's much more pleasing to the eye than its rival company.

Besides, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

I do hope to iron out any problems with my codes and stuff that may have slipped my attention. Do leave me a tag if this works weirdly in your browser. Lemme know your resolution, and which browser you use.

It plays a huge difference you know. The browser provided by the M-that-shall-not-be-named doesn't really read CSS as well as the F-that-shall-be-named which is Firefox.

Well, time to go and sleep. Will try my utmost best to add in the other data for those portions in construction. Might add a background picture, and perhaps random quotes and/or song lists. But well, better not count the chickens before they hatch.

Cheers!

A Hair Cut

I had a hair trim today, at my usual salon. Only thing is, there was this new hairstylist I never seen before, and she attended to me.

What an experience. The lady seemingly ruffled through my hair, and trimmed a few strands every now and then, akin to that of a garden being cleansed of its weeds by its caretaker.

Not to mention a couple of times she was rough with my hair; I mean, the hair's connected to the scalp which is like super near my brain can!

Anyway, my new blog skin's more or less done. I cloned the design from another very very popular website. No prizes for guessing which one. Not all my content is up and ready yet though. Just the bare essentials; namely, posts, links and chat box.

Hope you will like it.

But, I'll probably change over to the new skin by the end of this week. And get rid of this hideous heroic skin. Heroes is like so yesteryear. Till summer '08, that is.

Alright, time to go and sleep; gotta work tomorrow. From like 9 to uh 10 at night?

Milo McFlurry

Feeling famished after work, and dampened by the sight of numerous food outlets closed, my mood perked when I saw the latest offering from McDonalds - Milo McFlurry.

It was with much anticipation (and stomach-growling) that the staff served me my Milo McFlurry.

I held it, looked down, and saw vanilla ice cream, with brown sawdust twinkling at me. 'That's it?' I thought to myself. While I wasn't really expecting anything fancy or eye-catching, the initial sight was a turn-off, perhaps due to mental images of the Milo Dinosaur. This would probably be a hobbit compared to that.

My first bite was nothing out of the ordinary. No sudden flashes of light, or warm (or cool) feelings spreading through the veins, or rushes of sugar. Just like a normal ice cream, I thought. Then I bit on something hard.

Ooh! A surprise! I isolated the chunk, and slowly savored it. Looking like a chunk of chocolate, it does have the taste of Milo powder though. Reminds me of the times where I stupidly poured room temperature water into my cup of milo powder, and watched it turn to chunks.

I can't predict whether this may be a crowd-pleaser. Costing more than the average McFlurry, it doesn't quite pack a punch. As always, with McDonalds, its formulas can always be improved. Yet, I can certainly imagine this to be a draw for students on hot afternoons as they struggle to fill their minds with useless data. And, probably for swimmers too.

While I dare say the additional 70 cents is rather expensive, for no more than a few tablespoons of Milo powder, and several rather sweet chunky-unknowns, the dessert is filling and wholesome, no doubt the work of the vanilla ice cream. The staff could perhaps throw in more Milo powder. After all, which Singaporean doesn't like eating Milo powder by itself?
