positive nothing.

Singaporeans are a very complaining bunch.
And we always resort to threats.
Sure, it doesn't have to really criminal intimidation or life threats or paint on the walls with telephone numbers.
We don't brandish knives or raise parangs to emphasize our points.
We merely quote CEO names and baseless threats to 'complain you ah'.
It can be rather interesting how people quote the name of your company's CEO to put pressure on you. And not just once, but a few times within the same sentence as well. Sure, a group has more power than a lone person, but repetition actually decreases the weight and diminishes the effect.

When I hear a customer throw out the name of my CEO, I actually end up giving substandard service. It actually backfires because firstly, if you were that chum with the CEO, you wouldn't be calling in. You would be calling him. Secondly, dropping the CEO's name actually means you aren't appreciative of what I've done so far. And so you try to use his name to warrant more action. But you already have this mental barrier erected that limits the help I can provide you with. Most people don't realize this.

That's why we're a peaceful bunch of people. We don't know how to make the right threats to get good service. We react negatively like 'I'll sue you' or 'I'll complain you ah' instead of trying to use positive terms to help us serve you better. Thus our negative threats that equal to a positive nothing.
